Number Ported, now I want Premier

Post by frank1 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 11:16 am

When I signed up for Ooma, I was going to sign up for Premier with a free number port. But then figured I would just do the port to see how things turn out, so I paid $39.99 and did a port only.

I still have several weeks left on my free trial of Premier. But if I try and sign up for Premier it only allows me to pick the full price $99.99.

If you were to sign up for Premier first for $99.99, then later on wanted to do a port, it says "You will not be charged for a number port if you've already purchased an annual subscription to ooma Premier".

I want to do the exact opposite of that, I already did the port and paid $39.99, now I would like to buy the Premier for the difference $99.99 - $39.99 = $60. It seem like since I just paid $39.99 for the port, I should then be able to upgrade to Premier for the extra $60. So the end result is I have paid $99.99 for Premier plus one port. I can't seem to do that online without paying the $39.99 I already paid plus an additional $99.99, for a total of $139.98.

Has anybody else wanted to do this?

Yes, we can do that. Please give our customer service folks a call, they can upgrade you to ooma Premier for the cost difference. Thanks.

I am glad you posted this. I have a friend that is in a similar position. Now I can give him the answer without even asking the question!

Cheers,
Scott

As an fyi for others, I think you have to upgrade to premier during your trial period, if you do the port first and then get the yearly subscription to premier. Otherwise, you'll pay $39.99 for the port and then $99.99 for a year of premier.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

How about if you want to go to premier but you need to port before the end of the 60 day trial. Will they append the remainder of the 60 day trial to the year subscription?

If you purchase Premier before the end of the 60 day trial, Premier is appended to the end on the trial period.

Now that I've signed up for premier+port, how do you check that the year was appended to the end of the trial period? I noticed that the "time is running out box" is gone but I can't find where you check how much time is remaining on the premier service?
