Unable to import Windows Contact CSV file

Post by RudiL » Fri Feb 12, 2016 10:00 am

Hi I am new to Oma and have trouble importing my Contacts file. I am using Windows 10 and exported my contacts file to a CSV file. But when I go to Ooma > Contacts > Import there is no option to import. A window comes up asking me to download an iOS or Android application to upload from these platforms, but nothing about Windows.
What am I doing wrong, how can I import either my Windows Contact list, or from my Live Mail contact list?
Thanks in advance.
Rudi

See CSV File Info Below at bottom of post for additional CSV info

To Import:
Login into --> https://my-classic.ooma.com (Got the info from viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19816)
Contacts (on Left) / More / Import
Outlook 2007 CSV / Continue
choose file
if you created Groups --> Pick a group and make sure you checkmark the left
Import

CSV File Info
Make sure you have your CSV spreadsheet made prior to importing.
If you want names in "Groups" Create the Groups prior to importing. You will need to import a separate CSV for each group.

1) If you create 1 or more contacts manually inside OOma's Contact list with Name / telephone / email / Address then export it you can see what the CSV file should look like.

2) You do not need all the fields in #1 to import a CSV file. Below are the only columns (with correct headings) I use.
Title
First Name
Last Name
Company
Business Fax
Business Phone
Home Phone
Mobile Phone
E-mail Address

Good Luck - I hope the above helps someone.

Fantastic, it worked!!
Surprised that Ooma has not fixed that in the new version.
Re. your question.
Looking at the Contacts list in the NEW Ooma:
The following fields were imported:
Phone Numbers Home #, Cell #, and Business #
Email Address
Address
Company
Instant Messanger

Looking at the contacts List from in the old Ooma:

I get all of the fields above plus Groups
Cheers
