Post by JohnnyConservative » Wed Jan 21, 2015 4:40 pm

I might purchase a Telo2 if it may aleviate some of the latency problems with the OOMA service.

What is the Telo2 processor speed, Ethernet network speed and duplex capabilities?
democRATs are wrong for U.S.!

Ooma Telo 2
Specs from "GOULD V4.1" and Revision C00 on unit itself.
Side note: units from ooma directly as of Dec '14 are B00 which differs slightly with AC plug)
- Mindspeed Comcerto M86294G-12 (now Freescale) (8 VOIP channels, 900Mhz, but Ooma states dual 450MHz.)
- Memory: 2x Nanya NT5CB128M16HP-CG (2GB DDR3 SDRAM-1333 1.5 Volts 9-9-9 timing)
- SLC Flash: Samsung K9K8G08U0D-SCB0 (8GB DDP 5th Generation, Halogen-Free, Lead-Free, Commercial Grade)
- WAN/LAN Ethernet: 10/100Mbps

UPDATE 10/2016 (https://www.ooma.com/telo/)
I noticed Ooma says 1GB Ram: "1 GB NAND Flash with dual system image for the ultimate in reliability and upgradability to new services."
I noticed that Ooma now says 900MHz which matches the chip's specs now: "Built-in 900MHz dual-core processor provides the power for Ooma PureVoice™ including HD Voice and adaptive redundancy for a more natural sounding voice without stuttering or interruption. "

Oomas Telo (specs from "Darwin V5")
- Mindspeed Comcerto M82172G-13 (450MHz/166 Mhz bus, part of the Mindspeed’s Comcerto 100 series, 2 VOIP channels)
- Memory: 2x Hynix H5PS1G63EFR S5C (1Gb DDR2 SDRAM CL5 Commercial Grade)
- No SLC Memory chip found from my research
- WAN/LAN Ethernet: 10/100Mbps

As you can see, there are component spec bumps from the previous Telo version.

On Amazon, in the product description of both models, it says: "Built-in dual 450 MHz processors and 1Gbyte non-volatile memory provides the power for Ooma PureVoice, including HD Voice and Adaptive Redundancy for a more natural sounding voice without stuttering or interruption."

Thanks for the info. I asked a few times on this forum for the hardware differences and nobody could tell me. not even TomB. In fact, the only way I found your post was b/c I disassembled my broken telo 1 and looked up the chipset number on google (which lead me to your post here)
