Replacing equipment

Post by homebrewer » Sat Aug 01, 2009 5:47 am

After trying out the hub only version (from Costco) we decided that we need the scout and are returning the hub to Costco and purchasing the package from Costco.com. How do we switch the phone number and service (trial period from 60 days to 6 months)?

why don't you keep what you have and buy a scout on eBay?

Because after the promotion, the scout is free. You get $50 credit for international calls, 6 months of Premier service (instead of 60 days) and the scout for $30 more than the hub only version.

...how do we switch the phone number and service...
Call ooma customer service
I would have the second unit first before returning the first one so that you will have the S/N's handy when you call

Do not register the second unit before you make the call.

Thanks for the replies. The new hub is supposed to be delivered Monday so will wait until it is registered (via Customer Service) before returning the original one.

I may have missed the memo... but, does ooma's current Costco promotion include the Hub only?

I've learned a lot here... two months ago I didn't even know how to spell VOIP and now I are one.

Some of the B&M Costco stores have the hub only package. The hub/scout package is available at costco.com. The OP bought the hub only unit and was returning it so he could buy the hub/scout package online, hence the statement, "The new hub is supposed to be delivered Monday".

All the Costco B&M stores are selling the Hub-only product for $199 (different from the bundle on Costco.com). It's at a lower price point because it doesn't include a Scout. However, these customers have the option to sign up for Annual Premier which includes a free number port OR a free Scout (in the add-ons section in the Lounge).
