Need username & password for Telo

Post by jimmarako » Thu Jul 23, 2020 12:32 pm

Hi,
I was having some problems with my Telo unit (blinking red light). I tried connecting my laptop to the Home internet port on the unit so I could login. I tried going to "setup.ooma.com" as recommended in the manual. I got a warning about the site not being secure, and then it was asking for a username and password.

I tried my Ooma user name (phone number) and password. I tried ooma as both user and password. Admin. I tried no username or password. Nothing seems to work. I also tried going directly to 172.27.... and get the same prompt.

Through all this the red light stopped and it back on line. So now I also tried to come in via wireless by going to the IP address I set the Ooma Telo to (192.168.....) Again I get the same login prompt.

This happen on two different computer (laptop Win10 and desktop Win7) Both using chrome. Any thoughts on what the default username and password is? I've had the unit about 2 years now and I'm not sure I saved the original paper work. I also don't think I would have put a password on the device.

Thanks
Jim M.

There is no default user name and password. Someone had to have configured it. If you don't know what it is you will have to do a factory reset to get rid of it.

I was kinda afraid that this was the answer since I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere. I'd like to not do a factory reset. Besides my WiFI network going out, I'd have to remember what other settings I may have changed. I need to dig around and see if I have the original paper works somewhere first.

Thanks
