What are the keypad functions when calling into VM remotely?

Post by rasa7777 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 3:03 pm

For example, on my mobile's voicemail, I have:

keys action
---- --------------
1 rewind 10s
11 beginning
2 pause/restart
3 forward 10s
33 end
44 slow down
4 normal speed
5 date/time
6 normal speed
66 speed up
7 delete
8 return call
9 save
0 help
# skip
* menu

Also, I mentioned to a Ooma CSR

http://cp-ooma.talismaonline.com/al/126 ... =0.4644281

has some missing information. For example:

"While a message plays, press and hold to rewind backwards within the same."

"If you start to play a message that is not for you, press to skip the message. "

"If you want to review saved messages from home, press . "

"This also works for calls that are being screened. Just press to continue recording silently."

I don't think there are any keypad functions that can be used remotely. Ooma does not accept incoming DTMF tones. Your may follow the voice prompts to listen to you messages remotely by calling you phone number and pressing the * key during the greeting.

The directions you read are for accessing VM diredctly from the hub or scout

Here is the article that you're referring to:
http://cp-ooma.talismaonline.com/articl ... 26&p=11762
You can't copy and paste the URL from the address bar for some reason.

The knowledgebase could use some updating along with the FAQs.
I think what you're seeing is some graphics for the buttons are missing from those statements.

Ooma employees monitor the forum, so I'm sure they'll see this.

I just connected to voicemail from a cordless phone connected to the hub and key presses will do the following:

main menu
1 get messages
2 change settings
8 more options
0 help
* exit

get messages menu
1 listen to new messages
2 listen to saved messages
* exit

listening to messages
1 skip back 5 seconds
2 pause and resume message playback
3 skip forward 5 seconds
4 go to previous message
5 replay message
6 play next message
7 delete current message
8 more options
9 save/mark as new
0 help
* exit

more options
1 play message envelope
* exit

change settings menu
1 change PIN
2 change personal greeting
3 change name
4 change type of greeting
5 change autoplay option
* exit

change type of greeting menu
1 to use personal greeting
2 to use system generated greeting including your phone number
3 to use system generated greeting including your name
4 to use system generated greeting without your name or phone number
* exit

The page http://cp-ooma.talismaonline.com/articl ... 26&p=11762 is still broken. Can a Ooma person please update this page? The way it's currently written, it is very confusing for first time users!
