I talked to an Ooma Tech the other day (not customer service) and he told me the telo hub MSRP would remain the same as the current hub. He also said the telo handset would retail for the same price as the scout currently does (70). Finally he told me it would be released October 10th. When I was asking the questions, he sounded like he was reading the answers off a sheet so maybe he's right.

According to http://twitter.com/richbuchanan , the Telo is slated to be released on October 1st, not the 20th.

If that is true - $70 a handset-; it is very doubtful that ooma will be selling that many of them!
$100 buys a good decent cordless system with 4-5 handsets, assuming the new telo will act like the present Hub, whereas you plug in your own phone...if not (you have to buy ooma hand-sets that is), then the future doesn't look very encouraging!

PS: it appears Telo will debut 10/1/09... but the handset will not be available ubtil 11/2009:

As much as I want to believe the telo is about be released, something is telling me NO. That something is Amazon.com, one of ooma's biggest pushers. Why no pre-order page???? They put some things up months in advance but the ooma telo, which is supposedly coming out in 2 days, gets no mention on their site?

I would have to believe the link scoutconnor posted to Rich Buchanan's twitter should be highly reliable, seeing who he is http://www.crunchbase.com/person/rich-buchanan
