Incoming CID as a generic name

Post by gpochet » Mon Feb 09, 2009 11:56 am

Some of my family members and friend's caller ID come up with their number, but a generic name like the city name, "Cell Phone PA", etc.. Is there a reason for this? I don't recall seeing generic names when I had Verizon. Just curious.

I get many "Cell Phone CA" caller ID as well.

This issue is not with Ooma, rather it is the other person's telco... if you wish for this to change, the person needs to call T-Mobile/ATT/Sprint/Verizon to update their CNAME records on file
