FIXED: Phone not ringing

Post by ajw522 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 1:02 pm

I currently have my ooma Hub with the phone port going into the wall to make the whole house be a hub. I get a dial tone, and I am able to make ooma calls, but when a call comes in, the phone does not ring at all.

Help? Thx.

The envelope light isn't lit by chance (DND Mode)? If it is hold it down for a few seconds and it will turn off.

Can you dial out to a cell phone or other phone with Caller ID to verify the number your Ooma phone is on?

The envelope light is not on. I can make calls out and the caller id is right. Plus, when I call the ooma, It still rings 4 times, and while it is ringing, if I answer, it connects.

Any issue with your phone perhaps? Do you have special ring tones set up in your acct settings?

Did you disconnect the Telco wires from the street? The voltage, even if not in service, from the Telco could be causing this issue.

I live in an apartment, so I don't know where the wires are.

Just to test, connect a phone directly to the hub (no apartment wiring). If it rings then we know what the issue is. However, I don't have a solution for you unless you can find a way to disconnect the "street" wiring from your unit.

Yes when I connect it directly to the hub everything works fine. Also, when I have the phone connected to the scout, it works. But my scout is not working right now, and I have a replacement on the way. But I need to be able to use the phone.
