I run win 7, using ie8 as a bowser. phpBB software sould load correctly for this format. I don't see ( New posts) in the header. What are you running?

XP SP3. Firefox most of the time but it works on IE8 also.

It works for me on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition (RC) with both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions of IE8.
