Ooma core, annual regulatory recovery fee?

Post by oomaaddict » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:05 am

Bought and activated ooma device from costco (it is hub, no scout) some time around July 2009. When terms and conditions changed, received email from ooma that there is no annual regulatory fee. Today I logged into myooma , when I click on account and services it says that my account is ooma core & that from second year I need to pay annual regulatory fee of $11.75.I am confused now, should I pay taxes or will it be waived?

Hubs purchased from Costco are liable for the fee. It's stated as such on the box it came in.

Core just means you don't have the Premier features/service... You're still subject to the regulatory fee.

It is correct, since I bought the product from costco, there are no changes to my features. It does not say that I have to pay taxes.

Support told you the wrong info - All hub-only units purchased from Costco stores in 2009 had the $11.75/yr Annual regulatory recovery fee printed on the box. I looked at your account to confirm - My Ooma is showing the correct tax amount.

Need to check the box about the regulatory fees, but curious terms and conditions posted by user Aveamantium does not mention anything about recovery fee for existing costco store purcahases. Neither the email I received some time back in Oct 2009 specifies the charges..
