Landline System Preferences and Screen Calls

I am an original Ooma user with the first generation Ooma Hub and Scout. I do not have Premier service at this time and use a landline.
My question revolves around the System Preferences for Landline Options and their meaning:
Landline options
Send 'flash' key pressed to my landline
Send 'star codes' to my landline
*Update* - I read that this is a Premier feature only. Wish it said that in the preferences menu!
My other question concerns being able to screen calls as they are in voicemail. With the Enable Call Screening option selected, I still cannot hear who is calling in.
Any help, advice, suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Call Screening is also a Premier feature. Perhaps you should consider signing up for Premier . . . I think you would like the extra services that come with it . . . I know I do
