Fast busy for folks calling me

Post by bryanlyle » Wed Apr 01, 2009 5:54 am

People who are calling me this AM are getting a fast busy. I can duplicate it as well for both landline and cell phone calls.

Skype calls to the number work fine and so do forwarded calls from Google Voice. I would expect this since it's a VOIP call.

I'll be calling Ooma when they open up to see if they can do something about it. Have others had problems like this? I can use Ooma to make calls with no issues.

Sorry I can't answer your question... and not to hijack your thread, but since you apparently are using Google Voice, I am assuming that you were one of the Grand Central customers. What are your thoughts/comments on Google Voice?

I've learned a lot here... two months ago I didn't even know how to spell VOIP and now I are one.

Don't mind the hijack. Google Voice (and GrandCentral) are great. I have my office phone # forwarded to my Google Voice account and I have full control over how that number is routed.

I can't wait to see how Ooma integrates Google Voice features! I've only had Ooma for a few days now and it looks really promising. So, I am hoping this problem is just a little "blip".

I was interested in Grand Central, but too late to be included with those already on board when Google acquired the service. I am looking forward to trying it as soon as the GV system is available to the rest of us.

I may be one of the fortunate ones, but my ooma system seems to be even better than anticipated... and I had some fairly high expectations. I am hoping for the same with GV.

...and may all your "blips" be litte.

Ooma support is looking into this for me. I added a second number and it works fine. So, something funky going on with my primary number.

Also, my SkypeIn number is doing exactly the same thing. Maybe Confiker is mucking things up today.

Well, the situation has been resolved. Not sure if Ooma did it or not. I had a couple calls from support to make sure it was working, but they said they hadn't done anything.

Also, my SkypeIn number started working @ the same time, so something must have been going out there in the 'tubes.
