I am ALREADY a 'Core' level member, what if I get a second ?

Problems using My Ooma? Ideas on how we can make it better? You’ve come to the right place.

Ok, to save $18 you're going to take the risk. I don't think Amazon will get any more. If I'm wrong, you're out $18, if the new ones are even $199 - by the way, they were $245 only 3 weeks ago at Amazon, but they dropped and sold out. If you are wrong, you pay $3.45 or more a month for years (of course Ooma could stick us with that after all the Core's sell out).
Plus, how much is the phone bill you're waiting to stop? Just some thoughts. I know about procrastination, and the $18 is not much against me kicking myself for not getting in on the deal. Free Free will not come again on an Ooma, surely. The boxes say no. In fact, I paid the $245 for fear they would sell out, but the price dropped as they shipped, so Amazon credited me $45.01 when I asked, so I do love Amazon, as usual. (I order a lot from them) Good luck!

As you beat me to saying, Amazon now has them again for $199.99. Way to save that $18. Nerves of steel. Whether they are the no tax no fees units is the question. Ooma pre-sales has said that there are recent core units that have taxes and fees mentioned on the box, but nobody has ever mentioned getting one of those yet. The Ooma lady might be wrong. So, if anybody gets a core Ooma system from 07/12/2010 onward, post where it came from and whether it has monthly charges.

I bought one at the end of June, and it has no fees...I think the Ooma lady is wrong. She may have been referring to the Ooma Hub Deal that Ooma had tried for a little bit, which was an Ooma Hub by itself for $99, and then $9.99 every month after that. That deal was called Basic Monthly Plus. That one, along with the $9.99 per month charge, had to pay the taxes and fees.

There was (is?) a Hub only system sold in certain Costco stores that required an $11.75 per year in RR fees per year starting the second year.

I think there was. But www.frys.com still seems to have the core system new for $199.99. I never buy refurb.
Remember: If you buy a used Ooma it will cost you $80 bucks, I believe it is, to get it back online.

And then you'll be subject to the $3.47/month RRF.

He was talking about buying USED, and NOT the Fry's units, right??
Fry's says no monthly bill at all.
