Inbound Calls- Silent then get Call Wating beep

When I get an inbound call it rings, when I answer it there is silence and then I hear a call waiting beep. The call never connects and I can not answer call waiting either. Anyone?

I have had the same problem and I am in San Diego, not the east coast as the support update from this am suggests is the major problem. If this doesn't get fixed fast, I'm going back to AT&T. Tough medicine, but I can't afford to be without a phone.
