Blocked number is ringing through

Post by renatae » Wed Oct 06, 2010 4:24 pm

I'm getting annoying calls from a newspaper telemarketer and they are ringing through despite being on my personal blacklist. At first, it would ring once, then the call would be gone. Tonight, it kept on ringing about 6 times - the time I have set for voicemail.

I did add this number to my contacts list before I blocked it so I could add the name, since it was coming through anonymously. Is this why it is still able to get through to me?

These people are complete pests and they will call every day for weeks on end several times a year. I've had enough!

Oh, definitely! :)

However, since we used to get this paper, they can consider us to have a business relationship - which is disgusting. This is why I felt the Premier blacklists would be so helpful - many outfits can skirt do-not-call by falling into certain categories.

Turn on Anonymous Call Reject, and have it give callers the "Call Blocked Message". That way, if someone with a private number calls your Ooma, they will get a message saying that you do not accept calls from private numbers, and to dial *86 before your telephone number to unblock their caller-ID.

I've been having this same problem.
I just got a call (a politician robocall). When I checked my call log the number shows up there and the call block icon is red. I checked my blocked list and it's there.
I have my preferences set for continuous ring for blocked calls.
Same thing happened about a week ago.

In another thread, one of the Ooma folks mentioned that a blacklist with more than 170 numbers doesn't currently work right. He said a fix was planned.

Are there 170 or more numbers in your blacklist?

Happened again last night. When I look in my call log it shows the number as an incoming call and the blocked number icon is red.
In case anyone from ooma is monitoring this - the number is 602-904-5547. It's a political robocall.

The same thing occurred today (a previously blacklisted number, political robo-call rang through).

I have my blacklisted numbers set to ring continuously as well.

nToy - can you guys take a look at this issue, if you need details no problem, let me know.
