Error message 'user has not set up voicemail'
Hi, I am new to the forum and pleased owner of ooma telo for 1 day.
I have selected the option for incoming calls to ring both my new ooma number 321 area, and my cell phone 407 area.
All works good when the cell phone is switched on, both of the phones ring and the call can be answered on either of the phones.
BUT if I switch the cell phone off the next incoming call rings the fixed phone with one ring only and immediately tells the caller "user has not set up voicemail" and closes down.
Voicemail has been set up with ooma and I have recieved via email a voicemail message and I have also listened to the same message from ooma telo.
All ooma lights are blue with no flashing lights.
Can any one advise please.

Re: Error message 'user has not set up voicemail'
Has your cell phone voice mail been set up?
If the cell phone is off, the call will go straight to your cell phone voice mail.
When the cell phone voice mail answers the call the other phone will stop ringing.
If you want to multi ring your cell phone, don't turn your cell phone off.

Thanks for the reply.
I will remove the dual ring.
BUT it is stoopid that I cannot rely on the system to differentiate when the cell phone is off or on.
It was convenient for me to use the dual ring but generally when I get back home I switch the cell phone off.
Thanks again for your help.

There is no way that Ooma could know whether your cell phone is turned off or turned on.quintain wrote:Thanks for the reply.

Re: Error message 'user has not set up voicemail'
Did ooma remove the option requiring pressing of 1 to answer multi-ring calls? I suppose this is precisely why the option was there to begin with.
Re: Error message 'user has not set up voicemail'
I did not see anything in the multi ring setup about pressing '1'
I assume it has been removed.

I thought this was an option for users:

Re: Error message 'user has not set up voicemail'
If you select forward all or multi-ring and then Save, the option will appear.
Check the box or not and Save again.
