Porting

Post by raulrio » Thu Oct 21, 2010 10:58 am

My Porting Status has in the item Port Scheduled for Completion ACTION REQUIRED in red letters. Can anyone tell me if this something I need to do or what it means?

Regards,

Raul

Hello,

Our records show:

Order submitted to our carrier with a Requested Due Date (RDD) of [10/22/2010], Unless there is a rejection this date will likely become the port date, please plan accordingly. We will update you with the Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date once we receive it.

I noticed that porting of my # has now been moved to the end of the month:

"Port initiated Number port is estimated to complete on Oct 31, 2010"

Does this mean that this is most likely, in all probability, to be completed by this Sunday?

Regards,

Raul

Hello Raul,

I understand your frustrations & we appreciate your patience.

Typically, number porting does not occur over weekends or holidays. The 10/31 date is a Requested Due Date(RDD). What you are looking for is a Firm Order Commitment(FOC) date - this would be the day it would happen.

I've asked our porting team to contact our carrier for current status.

I've received notice that porting of my phone number will take place tomorrow, Monday, November 1. Thank you for the update, I appreciate it!

Question: Tomorrow when/while my number is ported to Ooma, should I leave connected or disconnect the cable connecting the landline to the Ooma 'WALL' input jack?

Regards,

Raul

Typically the line to be ported will go dead in the morning.
Outgoing calls may still be possible but incoming calls will not go through.
The port should complete in late afternoon.
You don't have to change anything until after the port has completed.
