Problems with my number port to Ooma

Post by hahler2 » Tue Oct 26, 2010 1:01 pm

I'm having a lot of difficulty porting my number from my current provider Qwest to Ooma. I signed up for Ooma a month ago. I started my number port right away. According to the email that I received, and the status update on the website, my number port was scheduled to be completed on Oct 20th. It still has not gone through so I called Ooma to see what the deal is. They claim that they are not receiving any response from Qwest and I need to contact them and ask them to release my number. So I call Qwest and they tell me that they have not received any request from Ooma to port my number and I need to talk to Ooma. Call Ooma again and they still claim it's Qwest and that they've sent them several e-mails for a port request.

What in the heck is going on here and why am I getting the run around from both companies? I'm extremely unhappy right now. What can I do to fix this?

No one can help me with this? Guess I'll be cancelling my service and asking for a refund from Ooma then.

I wouldn't let Qwest benefit from their screw up. Call them back and tell them that if they don't fix your problem fast, you are going to file a FCC complaint that they are not releasing your number. They should scramble pretty fast.

Check this KT out on porting.
