International Bundle questions

Post by anrufer » Wed Dec 22, 2010 8:57 am

Hi all!
I just put the $9.99 international bundle in my basket and purchased it.
Now I have a few questions, things that are not clear to me:
- will the one month now run until January 21 (since I added it today)?
- will it be automatically renewed (and charged to my CC) after that?
- what if I want to discontinue? How do I cancel this? I could not find an option in my account.
- Can I share these minutes when calling from my ipod touch (using ooma mobile) without an extra charge?

Thanks a lot to anybody who can help me out here!

Yes, you are on your own billing cycle.

Yes, in my.ooma.com billing history, you'll see the charges.

Only way to cancel is to call Ooma customer service. There is no pro-rated refunds for unused days.

Yes, you can access these international minutes using Ooam app. One of the benefits of having the Ooma app. Either your prepaid account or your intenational bundle is now portable, wherever you have wifi in your case.

International Bundle questions

Post by debonas » Sun Jan 02, 2011 12:07 pm

I am NOT a ooma premier customer.
However when I login to my account to purchase the international bundle.

I see 2 options :

1) International Bundle
2) Bulk Rate Bundle

Both of them priced at 9.99 and both seems to be same for me featurewise.

Does anyone know what is the difference between the plans ?

Thanks,
Debonas

You can look here for the different packages:
https://www.ooma.com/products/international-rates

The Basic 1000 plan has included minutes; the Bulk Rate plan doesn't.

You can look up some related info here:

WHat it loos to me is, between basic and bulk which are priced same ( @ 9.99) why would someone
go for basic as bulk has more features and other advantages ?

Is there a catch ?
Thanks,
Debonas

Bulk Rate plan doesn't include any minutes; you pay the $9.99 and then you'd pay per min (+FUSF tax) based on bulk rate.

Just for example, the Bulk Rate plan may make sense if someone calls Vietnam often but Vietnam isn't among the 70 destinations included in the Basic 1000 plan.

With FUSF tax, the standard rate is $0.258 but the bulk rate is $0.059; With the Bulk Rate plan, the 3.9 cents connection charge is waived ("The regular connection fee of 3.9¢ is waived for subscribers of any of our International Plans").

Here is the break even point:

.258X + .039n = .059X + 9.99
.199X = 9.99 - .039n

X= break even point is ~ 50 minutes with n = 1 (1 call)
Break even point is less than 49 minutes with n = 7 (7 calls)

If you call Vietnam, for example, more than 50 or so minutes per month consistently, then the Bulk Rate plan may make sense to you.

BTW, if you have a kid asking "why do we need to know Algebra?!" You can tell them this is why :P
