Anyone else having problems with the low VM volume?

Post by Tufflaw » Fri Feb 04, 2011 7:50 pm

The voicemail volume is unacceptably low. I've cycled through all the volumes and am at the "loudest" and it's almost impossible to hear, sometimes I need to replay a few times and keep my ear to the device. If I use my phone to listen it's better but still not fantastic. Any suggesitons?

I had noticed that, but my Telo is in a very quiet room and it isn't a serious problem. But it is real.

No question, that in many cases the volume can not be turned up high enough. Maybe a firmware update can address the problem. If not, this issue needs to be addressed by ooma on the next hardware upgrade.

Hello,

This issue is a bug in our system that engineering is continuing to work on.

I just bought and activated my ooma telo yesterday and am pretty happy with the service so far, except that I am having this exact same problem. While there are work arounds to hear the messages better, it's still frustrating...especially if you want to screen your calls, which are just barely audible, if you can make them out at all. After doing some research in the forums, it appears that this issue is not only widespread, but has been ongoing since last year...I can't help but wonder why it is taking so long to come up with a fix?

Ooma has put out a new version of firmware in the last couple of days.
Check and see if your firmware version is 1.43368. If it is, maybe that's what fixed your problem.
