Active Twitter?
I'm not a big fan of Twitter...I mean really, I put them in my RSS reader and I end up with 50 posts on what someone ate for breakfast, when they went to the bathroom....
But for others its usefull like twitter.com/attnews
I much prefer Facebook to know all that stuff LOL

Re: Active Twitter?
Yea, it looks like AT&T used that page to give status updates when the fiber-optic cables were cut in the Bay Area. We're working on setting up a twitter page for status updates among other things to keep people better informed about any extended outages in the future.

Re: Active Twitter?
Again, why go to another website to report these things. What's wrong with posting right here on the ooma forums? People have been looking for answers to serious questions. Why do they need to search for information for important issue's such as outage's. I NEVER would have considered going to Twitter to get updates on an outage or any other ooma related matter. But, that's just me.Bobby B wrote:Yea, it looks like AT&T used that page to give status updates when the fiber-optic cables were cut in the Bay Area. Re: Active Twitter?
I was thinking that they would use Twitter as one way of informing us of problems, etc. but certainly not the only way.
I agree, they HAVE to post updates on their own site. 99% of customers would look here first for information.

Re: Active Twitter?
Official twitter is cool..but I had something else in mind as a more "public" commentary.
Of course, the current Ooma_status twitter address is not open to public comments, and only handled by Ooma support.
What happens when they are asleep and not updating the tweets?
I suggest Ooma make the Twitter open-commentary, so we as a whole can update as necessary (aka, as soon as outage strikes)

Re: Active Twitter?
Well, all updates will be here as well, according to Bobby B, but if you use Twitter, they will be there as well. The more the merryier!

Re: Active Twitter?
The whole purpose of this thread (reason why I started it), is because Ooma is short staffed, and not actively 24/7 monitoring outages.
Look at this morning, while everyone was crying foul and outage, no Ooma mods were here to update the status page.
As I suggested, in the OP, to make a "community" effort to let each other know when outage strikes.
'get my point? Its more of a group effort to raise awareness
