ooma Outages - Corrective action plan
LOL
Do you think any sane person would run an ooma data center?
Heck, there's a rough crowd in this forum when things go bad!

Is anyone else still experiencing an outage????
Re: ooma Outages - Corrective action plan
For the Business vs. Residential argument, I have been using two Ooma systems that are being used exclusively for business for the past several months now. One is my wife's home based management business and the other is my small retail/wholesale business. And, even with the outage of the 13th, I couldn't be happier with Ooma and the monies I save each month on our business phones. I paid for the system hardware in 45 days with the savings. With cell phone back-up, we were only mildly inconvenienced and were impressed with the Ooma updates keeping us in the loop. When in the past our AT&T lines went down we had no idea what was happening or when a repair would be made.
The old adage "you get what you pay for" certainly doesn't apply to Ooma. With Ooma, its "you get much more than you pay for" and I can't say that about many companies these days.

Mistakes are the reason why, I understand, they put erasers on pencils.
Your response was outstanding. If you let us know you are having trouble, most of us will pull behind you. We can also take corrective action on our end to take care of our own communication. Had you had your proposed communication strategy in place, most of the outrage that was exressed would have and could have been avoided. A very simple and I might add inexpensive prophylactic. Here I am lecturing a comminication company about communication. Keep up your good work.

Where do you see / read Ooma hub status?tommies wrote:This is good new. Thanks Dennis.
Regarding this morning outage, I notice a difference from the one on Mon.
On 4/13. my hub status said ooma core: connecting, please wait . . .

If you don't mind my asking, has Ooma announced a failsafe for core users? I think it is a great idea, but somehow don't see the announcement on this site.bw1 wrote:You can if you're a premier subscriber and an update is planned for ooma to allow this for ooma outages (i.e. if your internet connection or power is out) for core subscribers.
However, this will still only work if the ooma calling network is up and running on ooma's servers.
Thanks!

The corn grows pretty tall down from My house. which is down the road from N.D. The trout and salmon streams are fun to. I am glad OOMA is just planing to build in redundancy which should help them grow their company. I'm sure they will make a good choice.when the time comes.
