Update 45073

Post by historypsi » Tue Apr 12, 2011 3:36 pm

How long is it typically before all Ooma devices are update to the newest firmware? I'm asking because I have not got the 45073 yet and I don't know when is long enough to wait to get it until I should contact technical support.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

The new Ooma Telo Firmware update 45073 should be completed this coming weekend. After that if you still don't have it call.

How does my Telo actually get its updates? Like many others, my Telo sits behind a firewall with no open ports and it is configured with a private IP address. Does the Telo periodically check Ooma servers to see if an update is pending?

I guess I have a similar question about how my Telo is able to receive its calls given it sits behind a firewall. Does the telo keep an open outbound connection to Ooma servers so that an incoming call can be signaled?

There is an encrypted tunnel between your Telo and Ooma's servers.
The tunnel was opened by the Telo.

Timely thread... I was just wondering the same thing here. I've been checking my firmware version each morning this week hoping to see 45073... nothing yet. Will hang tight for now.

Wow - I was watching TV when I suddenly saw my Telo put on its blue light show (rebooted itself). Afer rebooting, I pushed the volume button and was suprised to hear the volume called out by the familiar telo voice. I checked the setup page and see that I have 45073 (and the new setup pages). Pretty cool to actually witness an upgrade!

Now that I have this update it seems like voice delay has decreased, have others noticed any difference? I've only made a couple calls so could just be lower delay on my network at that time. In any case, I like the audible feedback the Telo now provides when pressing a function. The new setup page is nice too.
