Voicemail Notification From Ooma Telo Hardware?

Post by roboman » Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:55 am

I may be missing something obvious, but is there any way for the Ooma Telo base station to give an auditory notification that there is a new voicemail? I know that visually the play button will pulse red when there is a new voicemail, but other than that I have no way of knowing if someone has called. Unless I walk by my Telo and notice the red light, I have no idea that a new voicemail has arrived.

I am a new Ooma customer so I have the 60-day trial of Ooma Premier and its voicemail forwarding to a cell phone. However, my cell phone is almost always on silent so even if I get the voicemail forwarded as a text message I may not know anything has come in unless I check my cell phone frequently.

Telo handset(s) and most newer phones connected to the Telo would let you know (visual indicator) when you got a VM.

I sure would not want an auditory notiication. The little light is just fine for me.
