Google Voice Blocked?

Post by egaytelo » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:03 pm

I have been using Ooma for months now as a secondary landline, only signed up for basic services, that means no google voice extension. Before my Premier trial period is over i have been able to use my Ooma line to call a Google Voice number without any problem, now that Premier trial period is over I am not able to call that Google Voice number.
Am i the only one having this problem? Or this is a problem on Google Voice's side?

P.S. I registered 2 other phone line with Google Voice and I don't have a problem calling Google Voice, with Ooma it just gives me a busy tone. :|

Follow up:
I was able to call Ooma customer service and they told me that in Ooma basic service , any calls to a Google Voice number is BLOCKED unless you signed up for Premier service.

That seems off. Would that mean I couldn't call anyone that uses GVoice as their primary phone number?

Any feedback on this issue? I would appreciate it if anybody with Ooma basic service can verify this. Again, Am I the only one having this problem, or this is a known fact, It would be nice if they advertise it as Google voice numbers are blocked after premier trial period is over. OOMA BASIC SERVICE = NO CALLS TO GV NUMBERS! :x

Updates:

An email response from Ooma (Micoboy) states that regardless of my ooma service level I should be able to call any google voice number.
(reference number 110702-000284)

Ooma customer care representative told me otherwise, to call any google voice number I need to signed up for Premier Service.

Now, which of them are telling the truth?

@Hollywood
Thanks for the feedback.

The problem started after my Premier Service Trial period ended, I noticed something on my Ooma telo box, calling GV #, line 1 lits up for 1-2 secs then goes back to blue, I know it lits up to orange when theres an active call, but not calling GV #..

Did you activate Google Voice Enhancements during your Premier trial?
If so it probably wasn't deactivated properly when your trial expired.
Call customer support and ask them to verify that GVE has been deactivated.
