New Panasonic handsets have a "silent mode" which you can program the times you do not want the phone to ring.

an amazing feature would be blocking all calls from numbers not in the Contact list when in a (future) night mode...you don't wan't to receive wrong number phone calls late at night...

I think this is a great idea... especially if it can be programmed without requiring a user to physically enable the feature each evening and disable the feature each following morning.
