I have not successfully reset my ooma telco main unit because I had to go thru hell with them to get the brand new unit to work. So if I reset something that was working it might not work at all. I have tried the telephone units several times, but they refuse to work. When I first got them with the original teco it worked fine and I put in the pen.

I retired the telephone units to a box in the garage. My in home wireless system works better anyway.

Another thing OOma cannot get their records straight to record a new unit I purchased from them on 10/28/2011. I also purchased a extended warranty for a year. They have original dates of old unit in system and new mac number of new unit purchased. They say they do not know how to correct it and that I should keep record of all my ref #. Well it is almost a month later now and they are sending me letters with wrong information asking if I want to purchase extended warranty. I do not know what to think now. Since they cannot keep records will the extended warranty even be any good should I need it before it expires in Oct 28, 2013. I cannot get these fine folks to work with me they just brush me off and say it will eventually correct itself. Well I do not believe it for a minute.
To bad that you can't find someone that uses the Ooma Telo and the Ooma Telo handsets, that lives nearby that could help you. Probably someone that understands and is experienced with the Ooma Telo, could do a factory reset on you Ooma Telo and your Ooma Telo handsets, and have them up and running in no time.

As for straightening out your Ooma Profile records, I prefer to use E-mails to Ooma Customer Support. It seems like I get better results.

I am having the same problem. Have tried the soft key and 0/powered off with red key and back on, but I still cannot get it to do anything but indicate "searching" I have not tried to the factory reset because I have no idea what those directions even mean - for me they mean absolutely nothing. Will try recharging again, however when I started it was fully charged.
I get the voice telling me what my PIN is, but that is as far as I can get.
Very frustrating!

I previously had copied the Ooma Telo handset reset procedure from the forum. I just noticed that it was poorly written, so I rewrote it to provide more information and clarity.
Below is a more complete procedure:

Procedure to reset the Ooma Telo handset.
First, if required, go to My Ooma https://www.ooma.com/app/support/ooma-t ... -functions, to view the Ooma Telo Handset button functions and location picture.
1. Turn off the Handset by pressing and holding the (red colored) End Call button, until the Handset goes off.
2. Press and hold the following two keys until told to release them later in this procedure:
Left Softkey and 0 (zero) key.
3. Turn on the Handset by pressing the (red colored) End Call button.
4. Release the two keys being held in step 2, Left Softkey and 0 (zero) key.
5. The Handset goes into auto registration mode.
Note: You will have to re-register the handset to the Ooma Telo.

Note: To all those users with the handset stuck in SEARCHING, when pressing the left Soft key + the 0 (zero) key, you must Continue to HOLD DOWN These Keys while turning handset back on.
Then and only then will the handset enter the registration mode, which then allows you to input the four digit code.

Register the Ooma Telo Handset:
Find the 4-digit PIN number for your Ooma Telo by logging into:
http://my.ooma.com/pin
Bring the handset next to the Ooma Telo.
Set the Ooma Telo in registration mode by pressing and holding the Paging Key located on the upper right hand face of the Ooma Telo for 3 seconds. The Paging Key will start flashing rapidly.
When prompted on the handset, enter the PIN number found above and press the OK soft key.
When the handset successfully registers, a home screen will be displayed.

I did all possible resets. Finally I got handset in seraching mode. Then it asking me for PIN. Original PIN provided by OOMA doesn't work... Itried again and again. Then I got angry and entered 0000. I got message "registered" and handset appers to be connected. But I can't place calls. When I press green button and start dialing, the dial tone continued and nothing happends. I also unable to run SW update on handset. Standart message is: telo 100.
I have my uniden phone connected to ooma base and it works great. I called support and except rebooting they didn't have any fresh ideas... So pitty...

Popeye, do you have HD2 (with color screen)? If so, unpair and re-pair.

With older handset, try factory reset and try again.

I tried ALL possible resets and reboots on ALL devices. Handset doesn't recognize original PIN, but does register with 0000 PIN. Once registered, I have dial tone on this handset, but it doesn't work - no calls, updates, phone book...

You would have to register using PIN announced by Telo.

Try factory reset of handset like the video tells you.

Also, using phone connected to the "phone" port of Telo, dial *#*#301 to reboot Telo to load HD1 firmware

And once Telo comes back to all blue, try pairing.
