- I have my Ooma primary home phone number.
- I have a second number on my Ooma account as well.
- I want both numbers when some calls either to automatically ring my cell phone, effectively letting me pick up an incoming home phone call on my cell phone (my previous provider Vonage calls this "SimulRing")
Call Forwarding to my landline - some questions

I had to reset some settings on my account, and I think there is a problem with my call forwarding. Here's what I'm looking to be able to do. Can someone remind me of the proper settings needed to do this:

Phone Number: All Numbers
Check Enable call forwarding
Forwarding mode: Multi-Ring
Forwarding number: Your other phone
Check Require key press before answering forwarded calls
Save

Re: Call Forwarding to my landline - some questions
OK, it appears that they are set exactly like that. One problem seems to have arisen, though: when someone calls my second number, my cell phone doesn't ring. It rings only when my primary Ooma number is called.
BTW, I do not have the "require key press" box checked. Is there a reason I should? After all, that does seem like an unnecessary, if not inconvenient, step.

If your cell phone is off or out of contact with a cell tower your calls will go directly to the cell phone voice mail. It will not be possible to answer them at home.

It is possible to specify different treatment for different numbers so check your setting for each.

That I know, and it's not an issue. My cell phone is rarely off and has a good signal 99% of the time.murphy wrote:If your cell phone is off or out of contact with a cell tower your calls will go directly to the cell phone voice mail. It will not be possible to answer them at home.

I had thought that, but when I go to Call Forwarding under preferences, it seems it's set up for my account as a whole and not per number. I couldn't find a way to look at my second number's settings.lbmofo wrote:It is possible to specify different treatment for different numbers so check your setting for each.

Isn't the Phone Number field a drop down populated with "All" "your 1st number" "your 2nd number"?

Something like that, and my settings are "All Numbers," which should mean the forwarding rules apply to both numbers.

You can try starting over. Check disable call forwarding, save. Then enable call forwarding and specify treatment. Save.
