Can not make calls to certain numbers

Post by murdock » Wed Mar 25, 2009 2:17 pm

My ooma line can't make calls to certain numbers

812-471-1040
812-474-1100

These are numbers for h&r blocks in my area. I can make calls from my cell phone, vonage, or any other landline to these numbers, but ooma gives me this message: "We're sorry, your call did not go through." I've tried calling numerous times at different times of day, but it makes no difference. These aren't the only two numbers..I can provide a list of over 10 more phone numbers(all owned by h&r block), neither of them work either.

I wrote an email to tech support last week sometime, but haven't got a reply yet. does anyone have a clue what might be going on here? it's a peculiar problem.. Thanks.

I have a similar problem where certain numbers dialed from the ooma phone do not work correctly. These numbers include:

1. My place of work. 510-525-3000. When called I don't hear a ring or when someone picks up - only silence. The lone exception is when the call goes to the auto-attendant. Phone service is ATT sip trunking to a Cisco PBX.
2. My brothers house. Same problem - no sound until phone is answered. This is a vonage number.
3. A colleague of my wife's uses Comcast. No sound until call is answered on other end.

Any information or updates from ooma support greatly appreciated.

I believe I know what the problem is here and a fix should be rolling out for this within the next two weeks. It only affects certain phone numbers, but I know it is incredibly frustrating. Please bear with us...
