Still no outgoing caller-id name on my ported number

Hi,

I still don't have outgoing caller-id name on my ported number (or any other Ooma number).

How do I get outgoing caller-id name to work with my number?

Could Ooma permit our editing our own outgoing caller-id name? It seems the service folks aren't up to it.

I second that. I've never had my name show on caller id. I have one ooma number.

Me neither. I was told by Ooma CS that they had done everything they needed to do. It was up to the regional carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc) to update their CID databases.

Since it costs the carriers money to update those databases, some of them only do it quarterly. I am not sure how much I believe of that.

I got a new Verizon number for our security system and my CID information showed up immediately (even when I called somebody who had AT&T).

Very frustrating.

My port completed in March. Still no Caller ID name info displaying for people I call ...

I wrote Dennis P an email, and he wrote back very quickly. He forwarded my problem to a woman named "Ros" (sic?) who called me on my Ooma number. She indicated there may be a problem with some states getting the outgoing caller-id name into the telephone company database. She said Ooma will be working on it.

I couldn't ask for more. Thanks Ros, thanks Dennis, and thank you Ooma!

Roz is great for sure. I've been working with her as well on my CID problem. Hopefully they can get this figured out.
